Mount Hanang is a mountain in northern Tanzania. The peak has an elevation of 3,420 m above sea level. Hanang is located in Manyara Region’s Hanang District. It is (after Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and Mount Loolmalasin) the fourth-highest mountain in Tanzania, if you count the three peaks of Kilimanjaro as one mountain.

Description

Day 1: Receiving Tourists

Receiving you at katesh town where you will meet our tour guide and present to you a good brief about the mountain at 06Oclock and then take you to the hotel where you have dinner and overnight at Summit Lodge.
 
 

Day 2: Beginning climbing Mount Hanang’

Morning after having a breakfast at Summit hotel they will prepared delicious picnic lunch boxes and start the tour by either Bike or private car to reach the main gate it will take 20min to be at the gate depend on the budget as well as your choice..

Then, you be given a briefing about Mount Hanang’ Nature forest reserve for 15min after briefing at 10:30am you will start climb the fourth highest mountain in Tanzania toward the waterfall that are found in the mountain, at 01:00 pm you will be at the waterfall where you will have lunch there for about one hour at the waterfall.

At 02:00pm you will start hiking toward the getak camp site where you will get dinner and overnight
 

Day 3: Camp Site to the Peak

During 04:00 am you will wake up for sunrise view, and photographic. You will get a breakfast at 07:00 am. and proceed hiking to the peak in the way you will see montane side striped chameleon, different species of birds and plants but also will visit the natural caves that found in the mountain where by most Iraq/mbulu and Barbaig tribe use traditional believes. Also you will see Salt Lake and other lakes that surround the mountain.

At 01:00pm you will be at the peak and enjoying the good view of Hanang’ district, then back to summit hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Departure

You wake up at 07:00am and having breakfast where after breakfast you will walk around the village and performing culture tourism we will arrange for local food for lunch there after at 03:00 you will departure to Arusha or Dar es salaam.
